International Student Orientation 2010–2011
ew international students and their families should plan to arrive at Emma Willard School between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon on Sunday, September 5, for the beginning of the International Student Orientation. If you arrive in the area with family members or a guardian before Sunday, you may make arrangements for local hotel accommodations. All students should return the travel plans form so that we will know when to expect you. See the links above to hotel information and the travel form.
New international students who are traveling by themselves are invited to arrive and move into their rooms on Saturday, September 4. Emma Willard School will send a representative to the airport, train station, or bus station to meet students traveling without an accompanying adult if we have accurate arrival information ahead of time. Please complete and return the request for transportation form (see link above) as soon as possible if you are traveling unaccompanied by an adult and would like to have a school representative meet you on your arrival. (Please note that pick-up service is available only to students who are traveling alone.)
You will receive separate information about the preseason athletic program for students interested in playing a fall sport. Students who plan to participate in the preseason program should try to arrive at school on Wednesday, August 25, between 12:00 and 2:00 p.m. New international students who take part in the preseason program must also attend the International Student Orientation on September 5–6.
