Your Relationship to Emma Willard

Because we are a home away from home for our students—24 hours a day for boarders and a significant part of the week for day students—we work closely with all Emma parents to create the most positive environment for the daughters they place in our care. Our recent survey on school culture found that Emma Willard students value and respect adult interactions: they want us in their lives with the promise of interesting and significant exchange. This exchange happens consistently and happily on our campus.

Whether you’re the parent of a day student or a boarder, we encourage you to continue participating fully in your daughter’s experience, and to stay actively in touch with your daughter, and with us. All of us at Emma Willard welcome your questions, comments, and concerns.

Your daughter’s advisor is your key contact here, but that’s just where the connection begins. Through bimonthly newsletters, detailed academic reports, and personal contact, we will communicate with you clearly and frequently. And throughout the year we hope to see you—cheering on the sidelines, stomping your feet at Revels, teaching a weekend short course, strolling the grounds—any time, anywhere.

Parent Newsletters

Included in our regular communications is a parent newsletter, Parent Connections.

Parent Days

Parent Days—lively occasions to visit each fall, when the region dazzles with color—allow you to experience firsthand your daughter’s school life. You’ll talk one-on-one with faculty, coaches, and staff; socialize with other parents; and meet the classmates your daughter’s been talking about since the start of school.
