Financing an Emma Willard Education

A n excellent independent school education is an investment not only in your daughter’s preparation for college, but in her preparation for life. Still, private school is expensive—many families need help in order to consider its advantages.

While Emma Willard’s strong endowment and alumnae support help to underwrite some of our operating costs, we still must ask all families to assume primary responsibility for financing their daughter’s education. Those who believe additional assistance will be necessary are encouraged to apply for financial aid.

Financial aid at Emma Willard is based on demonstrated need. In all, we assist more than 40 percent of the student body in meeting educational costs. When allocating resources, we rely on family financial information as well as criteria ranging from a student’s academic credentials to her potential to make a meaningful contribution to the life of the school.

Emma Willard offers two tuition payment plans that allow annual expenses to be paid in 10 interest-free installments, or through a low-cost loan with a 10-year repayment term. Our admissions staff is happy to discuss the details of the school’s aid program and policies. Please feel free to inquire about financing options at the start of the application cycle.
