Girls’ school graduates have an edge, study reveals

mma Willard School announces the release of a study showing the benefits of single sex education for high school girls. Last week, UCLA's Higher Education Research Institute released the results of a well-documented study that shows a statistically significant advantage, backed by peer-reviewed research, of the effectiveness of girls’ schools.

The study was commissioned by the National Coalition of Girls’ Schools, of which Emma Willard School is a member. The survey questioned 6,552 women, now college freshman, from over 300 colleges, who are graduates of single-sex high schools and compared them to graduates of coeducation schools. 

Compared to their peers from coeducational high schools, women from single-sex high schools show:

Prior to this study our affirmations of the significant value in the single-sex experience came primarily from anecdotal information.
