Alan Berry earned a B.A. in math and philosophy and an M.Ed. in math education. Prior to coming to Emma he was employed as a public high school teacher in Vermont for 30 years. Alan also taught for a year in England and a year in Canada on Fulbright exchanges. He served on the Fulbright Peer Review Committee and was a member of the board of the Vermont Fulbright Association. He and his wife are hopeless Anglophiles, spending as much time as they possibly can in the UK each year. Alan teaches soccer PE and, with Dr. Naeher, advises FOCUS, a student Christian fellowship group.

Mathematics instructor Wendy Eld holds a B.A. from Kenyon College and an M.A.T. from Simmons College. She has taught at Emma Willard since 1996. She has coached both the track and tennis teams.

Sunshine Greene received a B.A. in mathematics and an M.A. in math education. She taught mathematics at Brooklyn Friends School and algebra, geometry, AP calculus AB and calculus BC at Foxcroft School. In addition, she has been a private mathematics tutor, an item writer for the College Board, a problem checker for Houghton Mifflin Publishing, and an instructor at the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth.

Robert Nielsen has taught mathematics at Emma Willard since 1996. He runs the New York Mathematics League at Emma, is the faculty advisor to the student run community service math tutoring group PRIMES, and he is a dorm affiliate. He has taught mathematics for over 30 years in the U.S. and England, and his interests include travel, the outdoors, and photography. He and his wife, Jane, live on campus.

Judy joined Emma Willard in 1988 as a mathematics instructor. She holds a B.S. from Union College and an M.A. from the University at Albany. In addition to working with Ski Club and helping Emma Willard students prepare for the SATs, she is a proud mother of two. Other activities Ms. Price enjoys are tennis, movies, and volunteer work, especially at the Sexual Assault Care Center.

Angela J. Richard earned a B.A. in physics and astronomy and an M.S. in planetary and space science. She was a teaching intern at The Community School in Tamworth, New Hampshire, and was a student teaching assistant in physics and astronomy and telescope operator/technician at Smith College.

Carmel Schettino received a B.A. in mathematics, an M.A. in mathematics, and is completing her dissertation for her Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction with a specialization in mathematics education. Co-chair of the Conduct Review Committee, Ms. Schettino also serves as a dorm affiliate and enjoys working with students outside the classroom. She believes that learning is an active and experiential process that gives students ownership in the education process. Ms. Schettino is excited about problem-based learning, inspiring active learners at all levels, and incorporating technology into problem-solving mathematics pedagogy. She works hard to balance excellence in her teaching, lifelong learning, and her family. At Opening Convocation in 2009, Ms. Schettino became the Henry L. Thompson Chair in Mathematics.
