Director of Alumnae Relations
mma Willard School seeks a Director of Alumnae Relations. The Director will lead efforts to sustain and strengthen connections between Emma Willard’s 7,000 alumnae and their school.
A successful Director will:
- Produce an array of on-campus and off-campus programs that engage alumnae and serve their interests.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure that the school’s communications efforts meet the needs of the alumnae relations program.
- Play a key role in planning and execution of programming for Emma Willard’s Bicentennial, which will occur in 2014.
- Serve as liaison to Emma Willard’s Alumnae Association Council, working closely with its president to advance the Council’s work.
- Identify, cultivate, and strategically engage alumnae volunteers.
The Director will possess the following qualifications:
- Strategic and imaginative thinking about alumnae engagement.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to translate goals into programs and initiatives.
- Ability to work effectively with a broad range of constituencies, including alumnae, students, parents, trustees, faculty, and staff.
- Appreciation for independent school education for girls and for the relationship between alumnae relations programming and fundraising.
- A sense of humor.
- Willingness to travel on behalf of Emma Willard.
- Bachelor’s degree required. Desired experience includes minimum of three years in Alumnae Relations or a related field.
