Admissions Timetable

Before 8th grade	Fill out our online information request orcontact the school to indicate interest
Fall of 8th grade	Plan a visit to campus
October—January	Take SSAT or TOEFL
October/November/January	Schedule a visit to EWS or make a reservation to attend an open house.
February 1	Deadline for applying to EWS Financial aid application due to EWS and SSS
March 10	Candidates are notified of our admission decision
April 10	Enrollment contract and deposit due

All Emma Willard candidates are required to submit the following items to complete their admission application: 1. Application Form (including essay, parent statement, and fee) Application forms may be completed the following ways: You may fill out our online application; or you may download our application; or you may download the common application. 2. Transcript Transcripts should be completed by a school official and contain a minimum of two years of credits, including the first semester or trimester of the current academic year. 3. Recommendations English Teacher Recommendation Form—to be completed by the applicant’s current English teacher Math Teacher Recommendation Form—to be completed by the applicant’s current math teacher Subject Recommendation Form—to be completed by the applicant’scurrent teacher-of-choice

4. Testing (SSAT, ISEE, PSAT, ACT, SAT or TOEFL)

• If applying for Grade 9 or Grade 10: SSAT, ISEE. Emma Willard’s SSAT code is 2998.
• If applying for Grade 11 or Postgraduate: PSAT, SAT, ACT.
• International Students: SSAT or TOEFL. Emma Willard’s TOEFL code is 8629.

Important Dates

We will begin receiving applications throughout the month of January. All admission application items are due in to the Office of Admissions by February 1. Each completed application is then reviewed by the admission committee, which makes the final decision on files. 

Decision letters are mailed from the Office of Admissions on March 10, and accepted applicants have until April 10 to respond. Decisions are made on a rolling admission basis for any student who applies to Emma Willard after the initial deadline. During the summer, we encourage late applicants to call the admissions office directly to check on the availability of spaces for entrance in the fall semester.

If a candidate is applying for enrollment in the second semester, the deadline for applications is December 15, with applicants accepted on a space-available basis by January 15.
