Trudy E. Hall Sixteenth Head of Emma Willard School Trudy E. Hall received an M.A.L.S. from Duke University, an M.Ed. in counseling and consulting psychology from Harvard Graduate School of Education, and a B.S. in psychology and sociology from St. Lawrence University. Her positions of leadership in independent school education include Associate Head of the Hutchison School, Head of Miss Hall’s School, Dean of the Culver Girls Academy, Dean of Faculty of the Culver Academies, guidance counselor and admissions officer at the Savannah Country Day School, and Dean of Students at Stoneleigh-Burnham School. She also taught geography at the International School in Saudi Arabia and social studies at Culver and Stoneleigh-Burnham. Ms. Hall's career in private education took her from Jamaica, to the Near East, to numerous schools along the U.S. coast, to the Midwest and back. She is vice president of the Board of Trustees for the National Coalition of Girls' Schools and secretary of the Board of Trustees of the New York State Association of Independent Schools. Ms. Hall was appointed by the Emma Willard School Board of Trustees as sixteenth head of school in December 1999. She was officially installed on October 5, 2000. |
